Taylormade Split
Does any one have the nike victory red split cavity irons?
I just switched from taylormade rac mb’s. had rifle shafts in the taylormade’s now i’m hitting dynamic golds in s300, seem to have lost about a club of distance and hit the ball really high, any insight on the situation?
i hit the irons in the simulator at the store and loved the feel and distance but the distance isn’t carrying over to the course. In the store I was about 1/2 club longer with the nike’s 6i -185 9i -155 3i -215
Your predicament mirrors exactly what I saw in the data when I tried the VR Split Cavity. You are going from a Muscle back to a partial cavity and you are changing to a lesser quality shaft, in my opinion. Obviously you did not actually hit and compare data before buying the VR’s. Not sure what you can do…….You got what you ordered I presume.
Edit: According to Nike and TaylorMade their specs are supposedly pretty similar. Although there appears to be about a 1 degree difference in Lie angles. I think the flight characteristics still are a result of shaft differences…. Plus ……..well……… I have never found a Nike club that I could hit worth a tinkers darn…..I know there a lot of Nike fans out there….but they just do not work for me.
Also I agree…..Whenever I hit on a Simulator I have them re calibrate it and watch them do it. Some places have been known to Juice them a bit to reflect higher numbers
